Vladswim Challenge Swim is a 2.5km, 5km and 10km open water event. Swimmers compete only as solos.

The 10km swim can be used as a Rottnest qualifier.

Kayakers and course paddlers will be provided so there is no requirement for swimmers to provide their own support.

A 2.5km, 5km or 10km swim for solo swimmers covering a 2.5km loop starting at Chinamans Beach, Balmoral heading south towards Edwards Beach, turning at Rocky Point with the loop finishing back at Chinamans beach.

Support Requirements

Own personal support is not allowed. The course will be monitored by support boats, kayaks and paddlers provided by the organisers.

Nutrition and feeding for the 10km swimmers

Floating feeding stations will be placed on the course at the 2.5km loop. Any swimmer requiring nutrition during the swim will be able to place their drink bottles etc. in these stations to be available during the swim. All bottles and food placed in here must be clearly labelled with the competitor’s name.
No glass bottles and no plastic bags. If you are using gels - please label with name and attach to drink bottle with elastic band.

If you wish to use this swim as a qualifier than you must adhere to rules set out by the event organizers. We strongly advice to check with the event organizers, if wetsuits are allowed in your qualifier swim.

Flotation devices such as pull buoys, flippers or fins are prohibited.

You may swim in wetsuit if you wish to do so, but please note that you may not be able to use your time as a qualifier (for example for Rottnest Channel swim event).
Also you will be not awarded winners medal should you come first, second or third in one of the event (2.5km, 5km or 10km).


Swim Briefing

Will be held 7:45am for 10km swimmers and at 8:45am for 2.5km-5km swimmers; on the morning of the swim, that is 15 mins before start time.

Event Cancellation/ Unsuitable conditions

We reserve the right to cancel the event if the weather conditions and or surf conditions on the day are unsafe and dangerous to either swimmers or our support paddlers. We also reserve right to cancel the event on advice from NSW Health Department.

 If the event is cancelled, there will be no re-run of the event and online entries will not be refunded.

Refund terms:

If you are already booked but unable to participate for medical or other reasons, please contact our office.

Terms: Participants are to contact Event organisers at least 10 working days before the event/ competition date, requesting refund and stating reason for their cancellation.

A cancellation fee of $35 applies.

Any cancellations within ten working days of the event or 'no show' on the day of the swim, will results in forfeiting your event fee. 





Age Limit

Entrants must be 16 years and over. Special exceptions can be made. If anyone younger would like to enter, proof must be provided as to swimmers ability to complete the course.

Rottnest Qualifying

10km swim can be used as a qualifier for the Rottnest Channel swim. Multisport Australia will be timing our event. The results will be posted on this website and can be used as a proof for your Rottnest Qualifier.

Limited street parking around Rosherville Reserve. Parking limit is 2hours along the reserve. All swimmers who are expected to spent longer than two hours in the area are highly enouraged to use public transport, carpooling and beign dropped off at the corner of Pirrawi and Cyprian Street and walk down the hill the the event area.

Remeber, if you deceide to drive ask your mate swimmers to share the drive with to save parking space.
